Our Meals Have Shipped

Awesome news! The meals that our community packaged at our Rise Against Hunger Experience have shipped.

It's important to us that you know how valued your contribution to our mission is. Read below to find out how your meals are making an impact!

At this moment, healthy meals are on their way to a community in urgent need of nutrition. We’re excited to share that destination with you. (Drumroll, please!)

Meals you packaged are headed to Turkey!
Turkey is a country located in the Anatolian Peninsula in West Asia that borders Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. In February 2023, Turkey was the epicenter of two earthquakes measuring over 7.7 on the seismic intensity scale. Turkey and neighboring country, Syria, were deeply affected with tens of thousands killed, large scale destruction of buildings and infrastructure, and millions of people impacted. The Global Hunger Index, which assesses food insecurity based on indicators that measure undernourishment and undernutrition, categorizes Turkey as having a “low” level of hunger. The Food and Agriculture Organization estimates that due to the severity and location of the earthquake, there have been more than $5 billion in losses to the food sector in the country, impacting the food security of people and communities across the country and region.

Your impact
Through Rise Against Hunger’s Responding to Emergencies pathway, to address threats to food and nutrition security in times of crisis, we collaborate with organizations that are meeting the immediate needs of families and communities in this region. The meals you packaged can help serve internally displaced people, refugees, and communities facing the loss of access to resources that support their livelihoods. You’re helping meet the nutritional needs of these communities at a critical moment.
