The Diocese of Richmond is always working to ensure the safety of our children and youth, and their latest initiative is a training session for children and youth called, "Teaching Safety - Empowering God's Children". St Ann's staff is excited to share with you that on Sunday, October 16th we will offer "Teaching Safety - Empowering God's Children" for our children and youth in grades K-12. The goal of this training is to help children learn how to set boundaries and advocate for their own physical and emotional well being.
ELEMENTARY SESSION:
Friday, November 21st 4:00-5:00pm
All children in grades K-5 will have the opportunity to watch the video with their parents in one room before being separated into groups for age appropriate discussions and activities. After the video portion of the program, catechists will take children in grades K-2 into classrooms and children in graded 3-5 will be in different classrooms to help facilitation age appropriate discussions and activities around the topic of setting boundaries.
MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL SESSION:
Friday, November 21st 4:00-5:00pm -
The middle school youth (grades 6-8) will be separated from the high school youth (grades 9-12) to watch age-appropriate videos, engage in a follow up discussion and participate in some activities to help reinforce the concept of setting boundaries. High School youth (grades 9-12) will watch a different video and and be separated into two groups.
Parental Consent is required!
