Advent at St. Ann's

Advent begins next week! It is easy to become caught up in the busy-ness of the season with so much happening. We encourage you to take some time this week to visit our Advent webpage and mark your calendar for the events that will help you keep sight of the true meaning of the season. There is something for everyone - advent book studies, prayer opportunities, and events for the kids! We even have an opportunity for parents to have an afternoon or night out!

At Home - make sure to include some of our Catholic traditions. Long before there was Elf on a Shelf there was the Advent wreath. If you want to learn more about this Catholic tradition for your home, click here. You can even start the tradition of Advent Angels in your home! Many families also set up their nativity scenes but leave the manger empty. Family members get to add straw (or strips of paper) whenever they do a good deed, help another or pray. The goal is to fill the manger to make a soft bed for Baby Jesus when he is born on Christmas Day!

We also encourage you to carve time each day to prepare your hearts for the coming of Christ, Our Lord. This weekend began our distribution of the Little Blue books for your daily Advent reflection. Be sure to pick up your copy in the Commons while supplies last. There are also some great online options at:

We look forward to journeying with you!
