God equips the called...

Posted on August 27, 2023 in: General News

A few weeks ago the CF staff invited you to prayerfully consider becoming a catechist or mentor. As we draw nearer to the start of Chrstian Formation, I wanted to remind you of this request and our baptismal calling. As baptized Christians we are missioned with bringing Christ to the world. When we celebrate the Sacrament of Baptism at Mass, we as a community promise to aid the family in raising their child in the faith. This is an opportunity to fulfill that promise. Our Christian Formation staff is in need of your support and Our children and youth need you!

We are looking for people who love kids and are willing to take a leap of faith and share your time with us!

Often, we hear, "I do not know enough" to be a catechist/mentor. The best way to learn about the faith, is to teach it. We provide you with all of the training, resources, a guidebook with lesson plans and "scripts" for what to say and ongoing support you will need. Remember, God equips those he calls forth! If you feel you are being nudged, call Patti Kamper (804)798-5039 ext. 304 or email pattikapmer@stannscc.org for a no-commitment conversation. We can discuss the time commitment and training process for you to make an informed decision.

We have a host of other opportunities for you to be live your baptismal calling, see our webpage for more information about supporting our children/youth programs or complete the yellow form in the Commons this weekend.
