Living Holy Week

Holy Week is here!

Whether you join us at St. Ann's for the rich liturgies of our Catholic faith, or you carve out time with your family at home we pray you make it a very, holy week! The rituals of the sacred Triduum engage all of your senses and prepare us for the joy of Easter! Take a moment to mark your calendars now. We look forward to seeing you!

If you have young children and cannot commit to the whole Triduum, I encourage parents to talk to your children about these sacred days and try incorporating the rituals of the Triduum into your week - we have included some suggestions below.

Start the week of with this brief video about Easter and Holy Week. You are also invited to print the attached coloring book.

After Palm Sunday Mass, bring your palms home and create palm crosses!

Try praying the Stations of the Cross! There are lots of options for families and children.

Celebrate Holy Thursday as a family by washing one another's feet before your family meal. You can even serve pita and grape juice and talk about the Last Supper. Maybe find an outreach project that your family can do to help someone or some group.

On Good Friday, make hot cross buns, pray the Stations of the Cross and venerate a crucifix.

On Holy Saturday, make these Paschal Candles, or Resurrection cookies or rolls.

Place your family's Easter meal ingredients in a basket and come to the Easter Food Basket Blessing!

Sign up your family for the Egg Hunt here!
